What is Home Watch?

The National Home Watch Association describes Home Watch as a “visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues.” You may hear it referred to as house watch, home check, property concierge, absentee home service, or property watch — but it is essentially a risk-management service providing peace of mind while you are away from your home.

Why accreditation matters

We believe in the highest quality of industry standards — that's why we are an Accredited Member of the NHWA. Accredited Members have been vetted for proper insurance, consumer complaint history, and truthful website content, and have agreed to follow the Mission Statement and Code of Ethics of the NHWA.

These businesses have separated themselves from the pack by committing to a very high set of standards. Those standards reassure clients that the people in their homes are truly looking out for their best interest at all times.

What NHWA accreditation actually requires

Not everyone who calls themselves a Home Watch provider has been vetted. The NHWA accreditation process requires applicants to demonstrate active, current general liability insurance and bonding; pass a consumer complaint background review; certify that their website content is truthful and accurate; and formally agree to the NHWA's Code of Ethics and Mission Statement. Accreditation must be renewed — it is not a one-time designation.
